Because the Williams Mine Fire has closed access to part of the PCT, hikers have been trying to go around section “H” (Bridge of the Gods to White Pass- 148 miles).
Below is an easy-to-follow set of instructions to get you to Morton, WA, which is only 54 miles from White Pass and 34 miles from Packwood.
At this writing, I can tell you that the CATBus and Amtrak steps have been tested by various hikers that we have hosted, and that the Lewis County Transit, has been verified as I called them directly to make sure our information is correct.
At the end, there is a list of Trail Agels willing to help.
They also stated that beginning October of this year (2024) they hope to add a bus from Morton to Packwood. (Confirmed)
For the time being, I am posting schedules below to help hikers along. In the future, the schedules will be replaced with links so that any changes made by the transportation companies will be correct for the the hikers.
